Matthew 23 verse 33

Matthew 1 Verse 20 To 21 Meaning

20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Verse 20 T0 21 Meaning

An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream he had. That is telling us that the Lord does and can connect with us. We often think that the Lord is a mysterious person or thing that is far away and untouchable. He is not. We need to get closer to him and he will connect with us.

Do not be afraid. We are sometimes scared of the unknown. We rely on our 5 senses. Anything beyond that we tend to steer away from and question. We need to believe and trust in his words.

Mary is conceived from the Holy Spirit. Can you imagine a woman becoming pregnant from a Spirit? Something that is not tangible and can’t be seen. That right there is telling us that there is a God. He does things we just can’t perceive and understand. How amazing is that?

She will give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. A direct order from God which was carried out, because Joseph trusted what God said. Why don’t we do this more often? Because we are scared.

He will save his people from their sins. This right here is so powerful. Before Jesus is born he has the whole world on his shoulders. This man was put onto this earth to save every single soul. God is telling us why Jesus was here. God is telling us that through Jesus our sins will be forgiven and our path to eternal life secured.
