But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.
When I read this scripture I get chills through my body and get nervous. I think to myself when last did I say bad things about people or to people. Or even thought of bad things about people. Jesus is telling us in these two verses that whatever comes out of our mouths he knows about and remembers. On the day of judgment, we will have to face Jesus and how are we going to explain to him the wrongs we have done. We cant! He knows everything we have done. We must ask for forgiveness and start to change our behavior from this very minute.
Jesus is directly telling us that we will be acquitted, meaning having eternal life in heaven or be condemned, meaning spending eternal life in hell from what we say.
Which one would you choose?
