36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Verse 36 To 37 My Commentary
When I read this scripture I get chills through my body and get nervous. I think to myself when last did I say bad things about people or to people. Or even thought of bad things about people.
Jesus is telling us in these two verses that whatever comes out of our mouths he knows about and remembers. On the day of judgment, we will have to face Jesus and how are we going to explain to him the wrongs we have done.
We cant! He knows everything we have done. We must ask for forgiveness and start to change our behavior from this very minute.
Jesus is directly telling us that we will be acquitted, meaning having eternal life in heaven or be condemned, meaning spending eternal life in hell from what we say.
Which one would you choose?
