Matthew 23 verse 33

Matthew 3 Verse 7 To 10 Meaning

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Verse 7 To 10 Meaning

These are the words from John the Baptist. He was not holding back his words when calling the Pharisees and Sadducees “Brood of Vipers”. He knew what type of people they were. These words “Produce fruit in keeping with repentance”.

When we repent and give our lives over to Jesus it is important that we live according to the words of the bible, follow its guidance and grow in faith and giving. Giving spiritually that is.

We need to shine and show growth from within our spirit to help other people grow in faith. This is what produces fruit. Leading people to Jesus.

I know this is sometimes difficult to do as life and circumstances get in our way sometimes. We just have got to keep on trying no matter what comes in our way.

For as John the Baptist sais, and every tree (person) that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. I get cold shivers when I read this.

The Lord our God is giving us clear and precise instructions on what he wants us to do. If we don’t there is the possibility that we might be thrown into the lake of fire. We have to try.
