Matthew 23 verse 33

Matthew 4 Verse 1 To 4 Meaning

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Verse 1 To 4 Meaning

This verse of the Bible is directly after Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.

After Jesus had been filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit led him into the desert and after fasting for 40 days and 40 Nights the devil came to Jesus to test him. The devil said to Jesus if you are the Son of God tell these stones to become bread.

So Jesus said to the devil I don’t need bread because my complete and whole body lives and thrives from the word of God. Food only nourishes our physical body.

What we need is spiritual food. The more we read the Bible and live according to its words the more spiritual food and faith that we gain. The stronger we become in spirit to defeat Satan.
