6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Verse 6 To 8 My Thoughts
This is how we should pray to God. We don’t have to speak out loud the words of our prayers. Our communication with God is done with our thoughts.
God wants us to have time alone with him with no distractions. We may pray by talking out loud but do it for the right reasons. Not to show people what good Christians we are.
Ther are about 7.7 billion people on earth. If we all had to pray at the same time God would still know what we all wanted. That is absolutely mindblowing. Do not ramble on as Jesus says.
Keep to the point and make your prayer simple as God knows what you want before you ask him. You might think to yourself, why should I even bother praying if God Knows my problems and needs.
He wants to get to know you. He wants a relationship with you. He wants one on one time with you. He is not asking much, is he?
How do you get to know someone better? By spending quality time with them! So let us spend some quality time with God during our busy daily schedule.
I must admit I often forget to pray every day. But what I do is have a short conversation with God during the day.
